Sleeping In light Tournament Questions - Discussion

For Drazi I'd be tempted to go:

1 x (P&P) Fireraptor
1 x Stormfalcon
2 x Firehawk
3 x Strikehawk
1 x Eyehawk
1 x Star Snake wing

This would give you much better flexibility at lower PL games and hopefully the Fireraptor would be a big enough target to draw some fire as well as being useful. It would also give you a scout that you don't mind using purely as an initiative sink.

Although, I'll be taking Vree to this one as I've never used them in an event and I'm still looking for a suitable event to take my Raiders to...

my Centauri which did quite well last night against the Minbari :)

1pt Liati
2pt Primus
3pt Primus
4pt Elutarian, Demos, Corvan
5pt Balvarin, Amar, 1 Rutarian Wing, 1 Razik Wing

Well it helps when you hardly missed a single stealth roll at the start of the game - including the point when my Sharlin had stealth 6 in a dust cloud. :(

I hope I get to fight a Drazi player, with either of those fleets! Easy win!!!
Though they are probably as good as it can get for Drazi... there just isn't a good Drazi fleet that is 8 ships at 5pt Battle.

TBH the best plan for a Drazi player is to be a "team player"... take 2 Fireraptors, quit your game early, and jump in to help a friend. 2 Fireraptors landing in someone's rear arc would be quite nasty.

ALTHOUGH... we await to see what will happen to Attack Run in the final P&P!

Really it is ridiculous to limit the number of ships the Drazi can have to 8, it makes them not worth taking at all and removes a race from the competition as nobody will be stupid enough to take it...

I however agree that the Drakh being limited is quite fair (sorry Clanger 8) ).

For ISA taking a WS SCout is easy, lose a fighter and there's a small speed difference.

I tend to take 2 if I have enough Raid points. Sometimes you want to be sure those rerolls will stick!

LBH

true but a Leshath does not just reduce stealth it pretty much reomves it ..........bye bye Sharlin................ :P

I thought the ISA couldn't take a Leshath for some reason or another - something to do with the new army of light maybe?

Its still horribly dire if it only gets

The Fireraptor now has Damage: 75/20 and Crew: 88/24.

hope it got more than that - Command and Advanced missiles at least.............

yeah re-reading the test documents I think its only League fleets that get penalised.............? Although the 10" range on the WS is probably more than enough............

Is that in upcoming P&P or 2E, it's been a while since I even looked at the rules.

I'm half tempted to take a Victory

LBH

Prob not worth it...........

Difficult as you would then have to take 4 ships (IIRC minimum of 4 ships raid or below) with your last battle point

1 White Star, 1 Liandra and 2 Blue Stars is OK I guess but prob not optimal............... and if you have to fight games at say 4pt raid - well
Bye Bye ISA fleet if its something like 4 Shadow Scouts..............

You going pure Vree Triggy? Could be touch and go against Shadows!
Pure Vree, yeah. As people who know me by now, I don't tend to do any of that poncy stuff and take allies!

Well, against Shadows you have the Vree's turretedness against the Shadow's ease of getting into range. I think it's a bombard the Shadows from range then try and reduce the initiative sinks as far as possible before hitting the big guns. At least Vree are one fleet that don't fear beams anywhere near as much as races relying on hull 6 and/or interceptors.
