Skinnie Speeders Heavy and Light

Hopefully it will also have better edited books, with more interesting pictures and art. Whoever heard of a unit of raiders taking on a plasma bug anyway

but I just don't see anyone who does not yet play SST, start SST:Evo because of love for the fluff.

SST:EVO however can give that final push to those who love fluff but who just can't add yet another game on their painting table...So SST:EVO will still attract people who like it's fluff simply by virtue of having prepainted models.

Know several of such persons myself so no point denying it

Well, if they end up playing, then I've been proven wrong!

Well the speeder are ok but compering to the MI stuff there are damm costly. 250 pts and a raider squad just to take one . :( Sometimes , I start to think that 4 towers with hvy lasers are just better and cheaper. And with all those fast moving MI and suits it is very hard to shot any thing ,cos if they end up in the middle of no cover they just die (like most things in this game or at least that's my xp). They would be far better if they were flyers .

Well, it is a great move if you think about it. Especially if you give the Raiders Phase Beamers. Mmm, do I love Killshot.

Impossible to hurt it, D6 cant penetrate even its target.

Skinnies will HAVE fliers :D Matt has already mentioned of one though can't recall name.

So in future you will have those flyers.

Are these pre-paints?
They won't be coming out till January for BFE and April for SSTE according to the MGP crew.

To VT - "Fluffiness will be gone in a year" This is significantly less than true, because as some may have seen Mongoose were looking for a fluff writer a few weeks ago. Matthew even used the words "pure fluff" for an example of work that he wanted, and cited as Starship Troopers as one of the possible settings.

Whoa... you're taking what I said WAAAAY out of context by equating "Fluff" with an army's "Fluffiness"!

What I said is that the % of armies that are created based on fluff rather than effectiveness will likely go down as a result of SST: Evo. I never said that FLUFF will be gone in a year (and if by some chance I did, then I didn't mean to).

I think I understand what VC is saying. He means army personalization. For example, my MI are Welsh and Reborns are British.
Am I right?

If you are talking plainly of the whole game as a setting, then no. I can see the pre-paints becoming a 'basis' for adding to. E.G. detail would be easier and less tedious to work towards.

Nah, I meant that fluffy armies will make up a smaller % of the total armies.

So, there will be fewer people making there armies as what they imagine fits SST fluff, and more armies that are simply effective.

So, let's say for example, an exosuit platoon is supposed to be half cougars and half grizzlies based on the fluff (not saying this is true, just giving an example). I'd bet in SST: Evo, the majority of players who join will take the obviously more useful army (mainly grizzlies with tooled out cougar commanders) above the fluffy 50/50 split.

I see why some people would take the time to learn about and adhere to fluff, but I don't buy the argument that the majority of players who join SST: Evo will be players who not only want to put the time an energy into that, but don't want to put the time and energy into the hobby part of the game that exists today.

If you look on other forums, most people seem interested in joining the new SST because it'll be easier to get players to play against, not because they look forward to a "fluffy" prepainted army.
