Only aircraft that land need to be in troop scale, big fixed wings that probably won't can be any size, they're just 'higher up' than they look on the table
While I grant that I will probably buy one of anything in the series that Mongoose does, if they are mainly for use as targets or sceny couldn't you just use a model or diecast and let Mongoose concentrate on actual combat units? I'd like to see a variety of support elements too as I think convoy scenarios would be entertaining. More little things for the ground pounders to hide from or blow up!!!
id rather see helicopters and ground pounders in the modle range and just have rules for aircraft, and a suggested scale to use for representation.
im only going to buy 1 aitcraft but il probably buy 2 helis and lots of FAV's and IFV's so i think monoose should save their investment and avoid doing air and just publish rules for air units.
i think 1.72 looks good. travelling at over a 1000 mph is it really worth putin a air model on for a fraction of a sec? maybe worth doing it in a completly dif way by havin a 2 seperate battels at the same time wiv air and land ie do all ur turns an schizz as normal but wen concerning air units they have to fight their own personal battle high up(unless shot at by AA then do dodge or wot not) until one faction has defeated all other air units then after that take em off the board or to one side and say u can have 1 bomb or missile or jus fly by to distract tunguska from mowing down ur infantry every 2 turns as 1 turn to attack an 1 to turn around and wen they make the attack they can be engaged by AA. this way u account for air supremacy and because air units havin seperate battles it wont effect the scale to land units as they rnt actually on land but sky high sound good? how the hell do u put pics in the post lol
