We didn't use ISD's for this, which I know we ought to, but this is our first 2ed campaign so we wanted to use all the new stuff!
Anyhow the game was skirmish level Centauri attacking
The convoy escort consisted of 2 Ochlavita's, a Garasoch, a Scout and a wing of Torpedo Thoruns
the convoy was 2 Civillian Traders and 3 Corporate Freighters
The Attackers were a wing each of Rutarians and Sentris and two Demos
Well the Convoy chugged across the table with the escort mostly sitting at the rear (Apart from the horde of fighters who took station to do Pseudo interceptor duty) for about four turns then the Centauri entered from either side, both ochlavita's turned to meet a Demos each, one on CAF the other not (but got a redirect from the scout)
Firing: Once Ochlavita got savaged, the Demos suffered one bulkhead hit!
One of the fighters on interceptor duty was destroyed but recovered by the Garasoch, the rest of the Thoruns stayed clear waiting to pounce.
NExt turn the Centauri bored in getting behind the carrier and a swirling melee developed between the Ochlavitas and Demos, however the Carrier moved off at full speed (and our of Ion Cannon range) then came about, out of range itself but at least further around!
The fighters went rather better the Centauri getting caught by Thoruns leaving the torpedo fighters a clear run at a Demos.
Firing: More scratches to the Centauri, one Ochlavita was decrewed.
The next turn was the killer, the Centauri moved in to try and kill the carrier, the scout doubled back to support it, the remaining Ochlavita turned in to attack one Demos and critically the Garasoch Managed a second successive come about to bring the other Demos into forward arc!
More importantly I also won initiative.
After the smoke cleared one Demos was adrift, the other exploded (killing several of my fighters!) and both Rutarians had been (improbably) killed off in dogfights.
Next games are a Space Superiority (5 Pt Raid)
And Carrier Clash (6 pt War)
Thoughts
Not impressed by the Ochlavita - insufficient firepower, the Demos are classic eggshells with sledgehammers, but the Garasoch is a real beast (and very useful in scenarios like this)
Oh and the MoD rule is quite scary!
