Shipping Issues - Please Read

Hi guys,

Just a quick note to explain what has been happening recently.

Over the past few months, we have experienced a huge demand for our products, and our and both our production and mail order departments have been fairly reeling under the strain. A Call to Arms second edition has proved to be massively popular, with a greater number sold than any other CTA release in the same period of time. Many of our recent book releases have also proved extremely popular - we predicted our printing facility would have to handle around 6,000 books per month, and we are now running at something over 8,000 a month.

The good news is that, in terms of books, the production and distribution issues have been resolved. Both mail orders and distributor orders are now leaving our facility in good time (usually within a week of ordering), and if you are waiting for a book, it is likely already on its way to you. The sheer demand for both Cthulhutech and Return to the Road of Kings has meant we have had to stagger their shipping but, as you might already have seen, orders have been leaving the facility every day and by next Tuesday, all orders should have left the building, as they say.

Now, we are reviewing our miniatures production and distribution. We are bringing more staff on board and the casters will be running on a 24 hour cycle as we aim to meet orders - the popularity of the CTA 2e books has knocked onto the miniatures themselves, and we have to admit, we just were not ready for their popularity. However, we are looking at all orders currently in the system to be sent within the next three weeks. After that, we will be running extremely tight deadlines so no order takes more than ten days to leave our miniatures facility, and we will be working on improving that in the New Year.

Apologies if you have been caught up in the delays, but they have our full attention, and we are working as quickly as we can to resolve them.

If the majority of their business is in the US, then they stand to lose out on the shipping.

not if its a secondary foundry like suggested.

As Katadder and others stated, a secondary foundry would be of benefit and would allow UK distributor orders to be actioned in the UK, and the US ones done over there.

Currently UK orders also lose on shipping from the US, so this would be beneficial to all. The only problem I forsee is in Mongoose having to invest in 2 sets of production molds (1 UK, 1 US). As far as I know most molds cost about £20-£40 so with ACTA numbering well over 150 models then you're talking about minimum £3000 before you've even factored in the cost of the moldmaker, etc.

That being said, there are lots of smaller miniatures companies who specialise in doing casting for other people alongside their own figures (Sergeants Mess and Magister Militum immediately spring to mind) so that their casting machines and such are fully utilised.

Importing from the US must cost a packet so how I see it If a secondary foundery is in the Uk. The US Does the Americas, OZ, Japan, Asia. Uk does the rest of the world.

I'm not waiting for a delivery so I thought I'd congratulate you guys on the increased demand.

So, CONGRATS!

Don't orders from places such as amazon help relieve some strain? Amazon buys from publishers in bulk I know, so its less profitable, but it helps in situations such as these and also helps in keeping customer goodwill. (products reach them on time)

I have been searching online stores (Amazon, Leisure Games, Gameslore, etc) ever since RttRoKs became available but no-one seems to stock it although the new B5 books are available. I finally gave in and ordered direct from Mongoose. Is there going to be the same problem with the Player's Guide to Hyboria?

Oh...and hello all. I'm an old AD&Der and fan of R E Howard but a noob to the Conan RPG. What can I say? This is why I got into gaming all those years ago! Great stuff Mongoose...and with Solomon Kane out now too...well it's like all my birthday's came at once!!
