Ship travel cost

The rulebook says 10sp per km, and the distance from Jrustela to Zistorwal is 2000km, so should it really cost 20,000sp to get there? I'm thinking that's a little on the high side. There's working passage, of course, and the party did just save the ship from a giant crab attack. Well, the sorceror did it single-handed while everyone else bounced off its armour except from one high-rolling Naginata hit.

Have they chartered a massive ship with a full crew and a luxury cabin? Or are they just passengers on a cargo ship that is doing the route anyway and sleeping on deck? If the latter I would presume well less than 100SP per head for the journey. Rather more if they have mounts, as they take up valuable cargo space.

Travelling 10k kilometers in a fantasy setting is a long way. That would be like almost a quarter around the globe. Like travelling from London to Rio de Janeiro.

Such a journey would cost a lot, and probably take 4-5 weeks by boat. I would rule that the PCs would have to pay at least moderate living expenses for doing so.

But 20k silver is probably a little to much.

2k kilometers ;) roughly the distance from Denmark to Rome.

Yeah, I seem to have misread that.

Roughly the distance from Denmark to Lisbon by ship then. Perhaps looking into historical prices for this. But such a travel I'd think takes about a week, and I'd allow them to travel at living expenses +50% for accomodations.

This seems reasonable if the boat, for whatever reason, was already going that way.

If the ship has been specially chartered just for the PCs then the price should at the minimum include the crew's wages and supplies for the time travelling. I haven't looked but suspect this would come out costing a fair bit.
