Ship Deck Plans

Just figured I'd start a thread where people can maybe if they want link in publically made Traveller Deck Plans etc.

I've put in one that I did recently it's for an 'Experimental' craft hence the fact that the drives etc etc listed in the deck plans would not actually fit in if you used the rules straight from the core rule book (Cost more to produce 1/2 the weight).

Try this:

Nicely done, by the way, though the fuschia carpeting in the freshers would make me want to hold it until we get back into normal space.

Actually mine isn't based on Scarcrovv's and yes I know the design, mine was based on Voyagers design.

Given I was around when Scarcrovv actually Made the 3D model of his modified scout.. so yes the design had influance from his but I didn't have a copy of his design to work from as I didn't know he had an actual website other then the stuff he'd posted a long time ago at Scifi-meshes.com

I will admit that Scarcrovv's is better and yes I use VV because that is how he had his name at SCIFI-Meshes.com.

Sadly, the only plans I have are rather crude. There are the ones linked to above. Florian 100 dTon Scout/Courier

There's the unfinished Rhino-Hunter project

There are some unrefined scribbles in the Lanthanum Petal project

Some unfinished scribbles on my Subsidised Merchant redesign

You know, I often wonder if I could be ruler of the known world if I wasn't so bloody apathetic!

Of plans that are NOT mine...

These are for Star Wars but very easily adaptable I think and nice plans too: Colonial Chrome

Also, Bailey Wolf of the exceptionally good Future Amada deckplans often has freebies on his website and DA page.

More if I can think fo them.

Crow

Good stuff Scarecrow.

p.s. Forgot to comment on the original Artimus. Very nicely done starfleet. Thanks for sharing.

Crow, i thought you'd finished one other then the scout, because i swear i can remember you doing renders of her back at Scifi-meshes.com.. of course those could have been WIP it's been so long..

Anyway next set i'm working on are for a Corvette, not 100% OTU though, she's a design for my own settings game.. Once I've gotten her a little further I'll post it up, just a matter of roughing out the idea's and the general look which I do in 3D so i have a rough idea of the shape then I go to deckplans.. just sooo much taking up my time atm :(

Trying to come up with a Combat System that I can use decently until HG arrives and I can see if I want to use it's for fleet vs fleet.. the 3D model of the Iowa class BB i'm working on... Work as in the real money giving thing.. sighs.. so much to do so little time heh ;)

btw thanks Paladin, I'd have gridded it but I moved the design after I'd started and resized and then went 'doh'.

Crow, yeah that would be her.. damned it's been a while since I looked at those hehe.. can actually remember the time you spent working on the interiors of some of them and btw i know what you mean about the 'wedge' and the like, for the most part I just let my players work out what their ship is gonna look like based on the 3 basic design prospects: Streamlined, standard or distrib.. and point out to them that if it's streamline it's gotta 'look' like at least it has some chance of flying properly..

but your right the 'wedge' is as much to Traveller as the Falcon or the like is to SW, even if the edge reminds me more of 'Elite' then anything else heh.

Lets get back to the purpose of this thread, Deckplans.

If you have any hand drawn deckplans, post them here.

If you have skills in 3d modeling, show them off here.

If you find a website that has deckplans, link to them.

And here are two of my favs

http://www.ourstead.com/trav/shipyard/

http://soltrim.blogspot.com/

So everyone get on board and post.

My site is down at the moment, in preparation for a move and redo. Had to comment on your links, though.

Sturn's A2 is an ergonomic mess, which means its perfect to hand to PCs as something they must deal with.

Those plans in the blog format are seriously giving me Judges Guild and Snapshot flashbacks. Seriously. I'm a known proponent of stark, readable plans, but those are *really* stark. And angular.

Crossing the lines? I'm about as edition neutral as Traveller players get, and worthwhile discussion will attract my participation.

I think I've seen a few of those before, but not all of them. Because the net loses stuff all the time, an occasional search is required to catch stuff before it goes away. When it comes to deckplans, very little is completely unuseable...

And I soured on contests after a bad bit of sock-puppetry a few years ago.

Jack: So long as you remember that the Artemis doesn't match 100% the MGP core Rules information.. here are the diffrences:

Jump Drive, MDrive, PPlant = 1/2 weight (Experimental systems).

and a few others I can't remember.. heh..

Edit cleaned up a bit if copy and pasted into txt file should display correct.

The only big changes from the Core rules = powerplant, engines mdrive 1/2 tonnage twice price.

The Florian is a common garden variety 100 dTon Scout/Courier from the Classic Traveller LBBs:

100 dTons Streamlined hull, 4 staterooms, no low berths, Air/Raft, 3 tons cargo, Jump A (Jump-2), M-Drive A (2G), Power Plant A, Fuel: 40 dTons, Model 1bis computer. 1 hardpoint with double laser turret added. 1 Crew as pilot and engineer.
Costs 30.1 MCr (with the double laser turret) and takes 9 months to build.

...apparently.
