Shem sourcebook

I must admit to being less impressed with the Shem book than by the Aquilonia book. No detailed map, missing out interesting places like the mountains of fire and haunted pyramids, and far fewer NPC's listed and detailed. Still that leaves room for that stuff to be done perhaps I should go post on 'What should moongose publish next'

Well, over 60 pages were edited out, but the haunted pyramids wouldn't have been in there anyway. Even Dale Rippke's site says they are in Stygia ("Haunted Pyramids:---ruins of sinister reputation situated in Stygia. (God in the Bowl)" - http://www.dodgenet.com/~moonblossom/H.htm). Why would I put them in the Shem book?

This is why Moongose need to get thier mapping sorted out, on the on-line map of Hyboria (Conan downloads on this site) the pyramids are definitly shown in Shem, come to think of it the mountains of fire have a fairly mobile geography too between some maps. Since I've got a A3 sized laminated copy of the on-line map I tend to use it for a great deal of my plotting and scheming.

I was making a comparison between the quality of the Aquilonia sourcebook which is brilliant and Shem, It is true a writer's effort and skill lie at the mercy of the editorial team, and cost aware management. Aquilonia did include a detailed map for example. I direct my comments to the editors that the level of consistancy between products requires a little more work!

Do you think the finished product Shem is as good as the Aquilionia book ?
