Shadow Assaults and a BFG

In general I like the idea of Breaching pods as a weapon rather than a ship, 2nd Ed is having apparently one shot weapons so may fit in nicely..........

give em a nice short range and a good chance to get through armour - could be interesting......... :)
And a sound effect that goes "I'm the juggernaut, bitch!"

Sounds fun off to clutter the board with another breachng pod sugegstion then.................

Should the phrase be compulsary l ike in Naval War with Kamikaze having to be shouted if your were using them! :D

Hi all

I was watching a ep of B5 and odly enough it recalled another episode where Garabaldi (with BFG) and other security are attempting to fight off a Shadow invasion of B5 in an alt future. (Go Shadows!)

so what you ask- well is some kind of Shadow Assault ship (I don't think we see the invading forces to confirm what they are just lots of Shadow warships) something interesting for the game (either edition)?

Also is it something we want to see (well I do but...........)

have fun :D

Babylon Squared was the ep

Hmm been thinking on this - not saying it is good or balanced but anyway - its an idea, its seems fun, and its in the show (or something like it is anyway? even if in alt future) :D

Shadow Soldier Pods: The Shadows do not use breaching pods in the same way as the Younger races, their soldiers are kept within the safety of the mother ship before being propelled into the target where they swiftly penetrate the hull of their victim and wreak havoc. Shadow Soldier Pods may only be used against ships that have the Immobile trait, that are Running Adrift, or have not moved during the turn in which the Shadow Soldier Pod is used. These weapons are immune to Interceptors and will ignore Shields and Gravitic Energy Grids. The pods do not inflict damage or criticals but each successful hit should roll on the following table. Vorlons and Ancients are unaffected by Shadow Soldier Pods.

Shadow Soldier Pod 12 F 4 Super AP, Double Damage

D6 Assault Damage Crew Effect
1-2 Brutal Onslaught -0 -2 -
3-4 Running Slaughter -0 -3 -1 Troops,
5 Rampage -1 -3 -1 Troops,
6 Bloody Massacre -1 -4 -2 Troops, No Damage Control permitted this turn

Could allow the Shadows to swap out the fighter dispersal tube and fighters for one - eg:

Shadow Intruder
Most Shadow Ships are content to slice and rend their opponents but some younger vessels crave a closer contact with their victims. They disable their prey and close with them before injecting them with a living wave of unstoppable soldiers who tear into the hapless crew.
