Shaakak Queen Light Cruiser question

Hello everyone:
I was looking over the stats of the various Queen ships in the Gaim fleet and I was wondering, is the range on the Shaakak Light Cruiser's Proton Bombs right? The Fleet List says they have a 30in range when the Shuuka and the Shrutaa have a 40in range on their Proton Bombs.

Well the skirmish lvl queen ship has the same number of AD as the raid lvl one. Fair trade i guess ^^. And 30" isnt too bad after all .

I asked this on Rulesmaster and haven't seen a response yet. The trouble is that you have a Skirmish that has 40" range, Raid that has 30" range and then you're back to 40" range for battle. IIRC.

Sry for mixup, i thought they were the other way around. Now this doesnt make too much sense. Especially since the raid lvl carrier also has 40" range.

Now a 2 skirmish lvl queen ships have twice the firepower with 8-times the number of energy mine templates. And comparable damage stats (combined).

It looks like a typo to me but I wouldn't regard it as one until confirmed by Mongoose.

Can someone see a reason to get 1 raid lvl queen ship instead of 2 skirmish lvl ones then?

Less range, less firepower and alot less templates :S.

Also less redundancy (1 Raid Queen is easier to lose than 2 Skirmish ones).

.... I had typed a reference to that, then deleted it, then retyped it.. then made it small, then deleted it... came back and retyped a comment on Aft Beams and then deleted it... Just couldn't bring it up again. Good to know I wasn't alone in that the though connection.

I have no problem with there being a difference, I just want to know that there is a reason for the difference and that it's not arbitrary.
