SFB or FC conversion algorithms

ACtA:SF is set relatively late in the SFB timeframe with the General War being the setting. THis leaves a fair number of ships not yet built into the game, plus a lot of refits already applied.

Since I have this stack of SSDs about a foot high I wouldn't mind adding a few ships or altering so for scenarios I pull up.

Im grabbing the rules shortly (payday and when it hits listings on the games stores I buy from), but are there any guides for converting or altering ship stats to reflect un-refitted ships in stat terms (while points information might be nice its really the stats I'd be after) or for converting an SFB SSD to an ACtA:SF ship stat line - either in the rulebook or amongst the community?

I mean some things I can think off already such as paired jump racks in Klingons being a drop in AD for them etc, and Im guessing weapons can be worked out fairly easily...but any shortcuts would be helpful to know for non-combat systems like hulls, energy systems etc

Any hints gratefully received!

I started doing the same thing for a couple ships I need for a historical scenario set a decade or more before the General War began.

It's pretty straight forward. Most systems are one-for-one, obviously. I figured out how damage and shields work (mostly), but don't want to get in trouble with The Powers That Be and so won't post their "secret fomula". I'm not sure how the cost Points are calculated.

If you do stat up the rest of the ships from FedCmdr / SFB, please do -not- post them publicly without approval from The Powers That Be.

Points cost is FC cost * 1.25, adjusted by playtesting.

All ships are based on FC ships. The process of getting the FC version of a ship from the SFB SSD is too complicated to go into here, but Mike West did a series of articles, "section Z", on doing that. So you'd need to convert the ship to FC then apply the Mongoose secret sauce.

I might be a while off (if ever) before we see any unrefitted versions of the "pre-war" Main Era ships currently in the game; but if they do at some point, the primary basis of comparison may likely be the Middle Years Ship Cards (mostly) seen in FC: Briefing #2. (The Ship Cards in that book are black-and-white; colour versions can be found in the various B2 sub-files over in ADB's corner of e23.)

As well as the Ship Cards, FCB2 includes a handful of rules needed to run Middle Years ships properly (and which are included in the e23-hosted rules and scenario pack); things like no plasma carronades, no type-S launchers, no capacitors for Lyran ESGs, and so on and so forth.
