See what you can find hiding on the Mongoose site...

I was gonna say that's just the 'Tir-Nan-Og' -'Land of the Young'- Source book for the D20 Slaine RPG until I noticed letters RUNEQUEST.

I was hoping that they use some diffrent artwork for the covers and inside.

I was just thinking, will this be useless without a copy of the generic rules for 'Rule Quest'?

If Lankhmar is an indication, they'll propably want to keep it Slaine specific stuff, and refer to the Runequest book. But its all free anyways with the SRD.

Who knows though ? They could follow Steve Jackson Games and do complete books "powered by Runequest"

In any event, this is damn good news

The cover here is a temporary one, not the final.

The art for this will be the more recent Clint Langley work (which rocks), I am working with Rebellion to get the images direct from them (rather than less than ideal scans from progs).

You will need the RuneQuest rules for this (it is, after all, a setting for RuneQuest), although the magic will be Slaine's unique system.

oups! I wrote too fast.
I wanted to say there aren't many pages for a rule book.

It is a mix of background and rules specific to the setting. As it is a RuneQuest setting it does not need nearly as much setting specific rules as OGL Slaine (character classes took an awful lot of room, RQ character backgrounds require far less space).

Clint Langley artwork is absolutely gorgeous and would enhance any product it's associated with. Can't stop looking at his recent 2000ad ABC warriors stuff! And electronic files of the originals would greatly help the look, rather than scanning from old progs :)

Ia Aaron still doing this book as he no longer works full-time for Mongoose?

I'd say, that he handed that one in before he left... But wasn't there a mention of DBC doing some freelance stuff for the Mongoose? Maybe this is the first book coming from that agreement. We'll see...

Will there be any other Slaine books with the rules?

Will there be boxed set of these rules, other source books and the original 'Runequest' rules bundled together in a boxed set?

Most likely not. Look at the products that Mongoose Publishes. There are nearly no boxed sets. They don't seem to sell too good. I personaly love boxed sets and think the idea of a Slaine RuneQuest boxed set is great!

have been waiting for a long time for slaine to be reborn under someone who cares about it and its about to happen and as long as support is their so will my wallet be open same with conan, elric etc 8)
