Score Board (Caution Tribble infestation)

I have created a google spreadsheet of wins and victory percentage for each race against each other at https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AhF0M7w3IcVCdEF1OFlhNk9QVFJEc0FrbUNWWjJ5M2c

If you post results from your games in this thread I will add them to the list. I will not add results from other threads since this is a) more work for me, and b) might result in double counting.

I'm going to include the points values of the games for people who are curious, this information will have no bearing on the spreadsheet though.

I have so far populated it with results from my group, that is:
Federation Wins: 1 against Klingons (1320 pts), 3 against Romulans (I don't remember the exact points) and , 1 against Gorn (1000 pts)
Romulans: 2 against Federation (200 and 600)
Klingon: 1 against Federation (1080), 1 against Romulans (I don't remember the points)
Gorn: 1 against Federation (500)

You should also include the points level played. It would be interesting to see if different point levels seemed to favor different races.

Anyway, one game played to date. 500 points. Klingons 1: Federation 0. ;-)

Of course we played things a little wrong, but got the bulk of it correct.

I thought about weighting the games by number of points, but decided not to with the spreadsheet. I will go back and edit my original post with this info though.

You should plot it over time as well. If it matches our playtest data, Klingons will get a small but early lead, the Federation will remain roughly level, and the Romulans will start behind but catch up as (we think) people learn how they are best used.

You also have to factor in availability of ships, which wasn't an issue during playtesting.

What about the Gorn then

Oh and the furballs

@msprange Good idea, I'm collecting the data in a way that I can roughly plot it over time later

@H I wouldn't worry to much, there isn't enough data yet to counter act statistical anomalies.

The problem with this sort of analysis is that it cannot take into account the abilities of the players involved in these games. If you have a good player using a particular fleet playing a not very good player regularly using another fleet then the record of effectiveness for both fleets will be inaccurate. It's fine as a bit of fun but I can't see the information gathered being of much use to support an argument...but maybe that isn't the intention anyway. :D

Then again unless for some reason(fleet being broken) all the good players gravitate to one fleet in the long run with enough statistics these even up.

10 skillfull players rack up tally for federation twisting it in their favour, meanwhile 10 skillfull players do the same for klingons, romulans etc ;)

Kirksfolly makes a good point, and one which is worth repeating. I'm not trying to prove anything with this, it is for my amusement and hopefully the amusement of others.

For example, my group is currently running two campaigns, one with Romulans, Klingons, and Federation, and one with Romulans and Federation, so some of the games posted involve unequal forces, unequal crew quality, or other factors that make them "unfair" in some way. I'm still counting these games.

Ok, here's my playtest games over the last fortnight (all small games)

Gorn v Romulan (500pt) - Gorn win

Fed v Klingon (600pt) - Fed win

Kzinti v Klingon (600pt) - Kzinti win

Did play a 1000pt Klingon v Romulan, but didn't actually finish and with what was left of both sides, a draw (possibly pushing toward a Romulan win ?), so doesn't really count.

furballs? you mean Tribles?! oh noes!

Nothing wrong with Tribles.

Put them on a skewer, roast them over a nice hot plasma fire to cook them and burn off the fur.

Perfect Gorn sized snack food.

Tribles, the bite sized snack for Gorns everywhere and they don't ruin your appetite

Crunchy on the outside, Chewy on the inside?

And just the right size for a snack when you are feeling peckish.

Every Gorn ship should keep a cage of them. The Feds serve mid battle sandwiches, the Gorn serve mid battle chargrilled Tribles
