Scholars and armor proficiency (Conan RPG Atlantean Edition)

In the Scholar writeup, it is written that he is proficient with all simple weapons. After the small sentence, it is reported the (usual) paragraph about armor penalties. The problem is, NOWHERE IT IS WRITTEN whether Scholars can use any type of armor. In any case, there is an error.

SO: are Scholars allowed to use some kind of armor?

Cheers,
Antonio

Anybody can use armour, the problem is for scholars, they would suffer a spell failure chance, on top of the non-proficiency penalty (armour check penalty applied to all your attack rolls etc.)

So yes, they can wear armour, but should they? Probably not!

Yes, but in which kind of armor are they supposed to be proficient with (if at all)? This information is completely missing. Or the paragraph about "armor check penalty" is completely misplaced.

Like quigs said, any character (including scholars and commoners) can use any armour. Even those they are not proficient with. They just get more severe penalties for them.
Also, it is possible to take armour profiency as a normal feat although in most of cases you will get better results by multiclassing for soldier...

Ok, so it should be assumed that the Scholar is not proficient in any armor type. The SRD explicitly reports when a class is not allowed proficiency in an armor type.

Thats how I always read it, never noticed that it didn't explicitly say so.
