Scale Philosophy

Mongoose
I posted this to EVO Command.com - but thought the gang might have some thoughts over here

While possibly of limited use given the size of BF Evo figures & the whole 28mm but not of the 28mm genre thing;

I found the following link useful for explaining my philosophy & how I view terrain & vehicles - have a look & let us know what you think! Smile

I didn't write it but birds of a feather are like minded -or something like that

Good article. I agree with his views on 1/43 scale autos. I have a bunch of them already. In fact, I have that very school bus. :) I've also based all my zombie figs on 20mm bases for those very reasons.

So, what is the scale for Battlefield Evolution then? I would like to get into the game, use the minis for both the game and for my RPG group.

Thanks, I generally play GURPS with my friends, and since one reason for getting into Battlefield Evolution is so that I have some pre-painted minis for gaming, their fitting on the hex mat is of major concern.

I tried to delete the previous post but couldn't. :(

Good luck finding ANYTHING useful in S Guage - and if so anything that doesn't cost both arms and a leg!

Generally speaking S Guage RRs use O Guage stuff!

S Guage / 1/64 (65) is pretty much a non-scale in terms of product availablity (other than the 3 corgi tactical strike vehicles that have been out of production for 2 yrs :? )

As a practical matter - the Battlefield Evolution Infantry figs are most compatible with old school 25mm figs - not the current range of super beefy - burly 28mms (they look pretty good beside my old Battletech 25mm troops)

The vehicles are most compatible with 1/72 scale vehicles - go figure :?

only forces of valor it seems, modle kits at the same scale are smaller .. go figure, basicly i think and prepainted tank you find will possably be a bit over scale and thats why they look fine. or close enough.

It would appear that there is some difficulty with the execution of producing a "Scale" model that goes beyond Mongoose.

Logic would dictate that 2 'scale" models of the same object in the same scale would have the same dimensions - this must be a more difficult proposition in production than in theory

As both Mr. Evil & I have said - go figure :?

nope very far from it.

it has the game open to something like nearly a 1,000 modles in non kit form.

i feel very liberated by the scale.

its taken me out of a comfort zone and made me use my brain and eye, wich beats the hell out of going stagnant in my mind.
