Salute to the Old Bear!

Having only just seen the sad news, I just want to give my thanks to Ian for his work on Signs and Potents over the years, and give those who share my sadness at his departure a chance to express that sadness.

This might possibly be more suited to the Signs and Potents forum, however I've put it here in case others miss the news there.

You were a great presence and a pleasure to work with Ian, I salute you!

I have said what little I could contribute in the MI forum, but I wanted to add something here as well, so as a wise man once said:

All around us, it was as if the universe were holding its breath . . . waiting.

All of life can be broken down into moments of transition or moments of revelation. This had the feeling of both.

G'Quon wrote, There is a greater darkness than the one we fight. It is the darkness of the soul that has lost its way.

The war we fight is not against powers and principalities – it is against chaos and despair. Greater than the death of flesh is the death of hope, the death of dreams. Against this peril we can never surrender.

The future is all around us, waiting in moments of transition, to be born in moments of revelation.

No one knows the shape of that future, or where it will take us. We know only that it is always born in pain.

Good luck Old bear, and God´s speed!

Don't think Mongoose will go down the pan, guys. Matthew has put his heart and soul into the company more than anybody else, and he won't just let it die, I promise you.
