S&P 47 - big time Evo News

Battlefield Evolution has attracted a great deal of attention, and not just within the hobby games market. We were quietly tapped on the shoulder a while ago by a company far, far larger than us. They said ‘we really like what you are doing – we think we have just the right project for you. . .’

The fact that Matt said "not just within the hobby games market" stands out to me. I'd really like to know who's intrested BF:Evo has piqued.

Well I think it kinda sucks that we won't see any new stuff for a while at least we now know whats going on. Too bad we didn't get any new unit cards.

With the announcement at the open day I thought they would mention who this company is and what the project is also...

Maybe the outside interest is Hasbro Game Co.?

Don't you think Hasbro already owns a player in the hobby game market? I mean, I know Wizards of the Coast isn't a big outfit ( ), but they have sold a hobby game or two...

I don't think anything was confirmed regarding the bigger company, other than it was outside the gaming market.
... If only it were Mcfarlene toys Im pretty sure they're one of the few companies which could do prepainted miniatures right.

Spawn evolution? That would rock, hellspawn from different eras beating the crap out of angels and stuff.

I think you're looking for Hell Dorado :) .

Not that I would mind seeing Mongoose's take on the whole thing, but I think they have more than enough on their plates already.

Well maybe not spawn so much (Although that could be pretty cool :D), I was more just thinking how much action figures improved after Tod McFarlane got involved.
I dont think it'd be overstating things to say the toy company he founded was responsable for singlehandidly breaking figures out of the rut they'd been stuck in for around tne years.

I'd love to see what they could do in a smaller scale :D

You would wonder what this larger company is. I can only think of two possibilities:
A video game company
A television/movie company

And with what would or would not work, and what licenses are taken, that narrows it down a bit.

Then again, stuff like McFarlane and the like would be exceptions to this, widening the possibilities. Food for thought and I'm hungry.

Yeah a computer game company is a good bet I think.
Imagine EA putting farming out the rights to a C&C prepaint,
I'm not sure I'd be able to resist... And adly I dont even think Id care if the rules were naff :D.

Another option might be Sony, they've managed to expand the past ten years to the point where I could see them doing business with someone other than Bandai.

Im pretty certain Wizkids have BSG in the bag already dude...
And didn't Matt come out and say they definatly didn't have it too?

Now that you mention it, I think you're right. Wizkids has it. Unfortunately, that means it will probably be clickable or little card ships. . . not a REAL miniatures game! :(

Its worse than that soulmage!
Wizkids seem to be focusing on plasticard self assembly kits a bit more these days, like that starwars one.
So there might not even be miniatures :(
