Does anyone use any of the online software to play RuneQuest? My group alreay has its own vent server we use for warcraft. Now I just need something to share maps with and roll dice with.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

I use Skype frequently for online games with free conference calling between all the users. The PM facility is perfect for note passing and the file transfer facility great for bunging out maps.

For something more akin to a tabletop then Screen Monkey might be the way to go, but you need a shed-load of bandwidth and need to watch map sizes and refresh rates, because it can slow things down.

My group uses Skype to play online like Loz, and I confirm that it works fine if you have a decent connection. As for maps, we tried Vassal first, but since it is not specifically designed for RPGs we eventually switched to MapTool, which has the advantage of being free. It is client/server and not browser based, but it works perfectly also in a mixed Windows/Macintosh environment.
