(RQ Slaine) Has anyone seen it in stores yet?

Tal

Mongoose
the title says it all. Excluding those who got theirs at Mongoose Hall has anyone seen it in stores or recieved their order?

My FLGS is getting it in this week but I'm waiting for cthulhutech so this one will have to wait for next month. :(

I preordered mine with FRPgames so I am hoping that it comes in soon. I also just found two Slaine books at comic book store here in the US(a major find as I have been looking for awhile with no luck). Slaine warriors dawn and Slaine the king. I have all 3 books of invasions ordered as well, but am told I won't be getting them till Christmas as presents.

For those interested, I just got home from work and I got an email from FRP games stating they sent my RQ Slaine book. If everything goes right I should have in three to four days. RQ Slaine has made it to the States!!!!!

Just found out about Runequest Slaine, could anyone tell me what is in the book compared to the D20 version. Is it a compilation of the best stuff or an entire rewrite?

Cheers

Rules for characters, magic, monsters, and so on are all new.

Most of the background info is from the old D20 game (rulebook, tribe books & Tir Nan Og were all plundered) although there are a few new bits here and there.

Introductory adventure at the back is new. Sets the scene for the first campaign book a bit as well, introducing the village of Baileoisin, which is where the campaign will be based.

There has already been an adventure printed for the game in this month's S&P, if you want a look (also set in Baileoisin, although like the one in the rulebook it is easily adaptable to other locales).

Next months S&P will have the first cult write up (I plan to have a full book of various religions done early next year, with friendly deities, the Cyth, Midgard gods and so on).

I have some fairly extensive plans for Slaine in the mid to long term (new sourcebooks looking at Fomors, Midgard, the Drunes, El Worlds plus a couple more campaigns vs the Fomors, possibly one set in Midgard), but this is mostly a labour of love (I am doing most of the work in my own time) and the plans are very tentative at the moment.

Hope these all come to fruition! At this point I was going to use the RQ 3 Vikings suppliment for Midgard.

Got my copy of Rq Slaine today, while I haven't read it yet I did skim through it and liked what I seen- barter system(how much money = how many cows= how many pigs = how many chickens) and the differant types of formorians. The barter system would be a good guide for druids passing judgements as well as for the obvious use.

Do you intend to provide some conversion notes for those of us who have the d20 books?

I am ready to purchase a new Slaine core book but I need an incentive. :P

I"ll second the conversion request. It would be nice to have it to convert the old Teeth of the moon sow campaign.

Saw many copies in "Waylanders forge" in Birmingham yesterday, so it looks like tis made it to the shops... though my budget couldnt stretch to it this month - I was after the Lone Wolf book, but sadly no sign yet.
