It may be a GM issue then because when I played Jedi's I had to use Attribute points at character creation to raise my Force Skill and pay a hefty price to improve them after. I also never had a 3D/4D starting Attribute though.

There are multiple editions of D6 Star Wars so you may both be right in your experiences and it not just be down to a GM. I certainly remember what you describe above.

Jedi's had Sense, Control, and Alter force attributes rated in the same way as Dexterity, Strength, etc... And those dice used to fuel them [ie, the force abilities] came from the same pool as the other 'normal' abilities. Yes?
