Robotech evo

I wa wondering if anyone had come up with Battlefield Evolution Rules for some of the Mecha.
I have some of the Models and Toys that are about the right size and I think they would look cool on the Field of Battle.

I made some notes for Evo mechs, but at the moment i`m working on Evo Aliens for todays work, and also working on a modern jet fighter evo game, which will have rules for fighters in space, just like robotech battles, then i was thinking instead of plane vs plane in space, upscale to flights vs flights( groups of 6 ) and have big battleships slugging it out.

I have nearly finished the stats on the dogfighting game for people to playtest...

there are robotech 1:72 models that could work well but the lack of opposing models like the zentradi could make it hard to make a DIY Robotech Evo

A general mecha rule system could be good (like someone said before) as players can choose their own models and scales

I was Hoping to ger stats on the Tomahawk, Spartin and Raider X, the ones I have are about 6"-8" Tall.

That size sounds like 1/72 scale. Should be close enough to use for BFE. The trick I see with incorporating into Evo is points. A destroid is far superior to a tank(in the fiction anyway), and a tank is already 400 points. I would think robotech destroids would start to push into 600-800 maybe even 1000 points.

I like the ease and flow of the Evo rules, but unfortunately, Evo doesn't have a mecha construction system. Also, the weapon system scales well for assault rifles to tank weapons, but what does an Excalibur Arm Gun Shoot? Or Megatron's Arm Gun?

Omar Dogan (Illustrator- Street Fighter Legends: Sakura, Robotech, screw comic con! you guys are goin to evo! thats awesome hope to see you guys there.

I seriously think this should be a dead thread! Simply because HG chose their choice to put out a game and they are not going to make a second mistake and allow a license their products to a second company again. That is the reason certain mechs were radically changed in Battletech.

Alternatively, don't do Robotech: do Macross. HG based Robotech on dubs of Macross, Southern Cross and Mospeada, which are totally different properties and used to be owned by Tatsunoko, I think.

Hey! Robotech is an awesome idea IMO! Macross is good too, and I understand the logic, but I grew up on Robotech. Also, I don't think overcoming Battletech would be much of a problem. I think they would be two different games. Battletech tends tends to be slow and plodding (if you're talking about the "non-clix" version), or mildly non-sensical in the "clix" version. If MGP could produce mechanics to keep the combat fast paced and frantic as it was in the series it could really stand out!

Let this thread die!!!! Harmony Gold has signed a gaming contract with another company! And unlike previously they will not let their material be out here without their express control! Especially since there is going to be a "Live" action movie with Tobey MacGuire producing and starring in it. So let this thread DIE!

Too bad about Harmony Gold. On the other hand MGP probably isn't going to make 99 percent of the games that get proposed here. It's just fun to speculate.

Are they really making a live action movie? I hope that doesn't end up being another piece of my childhood destroyed by Hollywood... :?

What about Trancformers? That was a good movie.

A solid point. It was an awesome movie imo.

Unfortunately that makes it one out of like 20 or 30 that were outright awful.
Anybody remember the George Clooney Batman? I just hope Robotech takes more of the Transformers route. It's not broken. Don't fix it. Just update it a little and keep Sam Raimi (I'm sure I misspelled his last name) away from it!
