Mongoose
Well I got my copy today from the FLGS. A quick skim of the contents suggests there is a lot of new and useful text!
But ...............................................
Why, oh why, oh why, oh why does Mongoose NEVER do their maps very well. I'm getting really p'd off with it.
First. The black and white maps are poorly reproduced with many features unreadable because of the dark background.
Second. Barely has the ink dried on the second edition core rule book and we have a fundamentally different world map.
There are many game companies that produce high quality source material for RPGs - Columbia Games, ICE, and Chaosium to name a few. Is it really THAT hard to get right!!
BTW Matthew - if you are serious about doing Cities of Hyboria then get your considerable cartography problems sorted out first. As a publisher you should be embarassed by allowing the maps in this book to go out the way they have.
