Reggiane RE.2001 Ariete 1/600 scale

quite correct. However, at that scale the Macchi 202 ought to be a fair substitute - they both have the same engine anyway, and the shapes aren't that different... Sizes are pretty near identical (only about half a meter in it length/wing span wise).

Also, to pick them out from other Macchis you can paint them in navy colours rather than the north african camo.

Skytrex don't do them either, and the only other 1/600 aircraft i have are airfix from an ark royal kit so i'm out of ideas i'm afraid, you could always try google and see what pops up? sometimes it just comes down to searching. I know White Ensign also have lists of model kits and you may be able to find something on there.

There are a lot more of them than you think. Some of my most glorious naval wargaming victories have been won with Italian naval forces (including a memorable 1943 campaign where my Littorio strike force caught a fleet of allied carriers at close range in the dark :) )

Ive got a 3000 point Basiglieri/Carri company for Flames of war and my Italian fleet..maybe its my Italian heritage. Believe it or not my friend and I have not used air power in Victory at sea(we've been playing since 2007)...yet. I dont think its crossed his mind(He has Brits). Im gonna give him a nice lesson in Air power in our next game of Victory. Ive got 6 flights of SM.79's and 6 flights of Macchi2002's.

Yes I do alot of North Africa and Med Games. My Italian and British fleets are my largest. I also play 285mm North Africa and 54mm North Africa for ground pounding.
My almost up to date Italian Fleet.

Post subject: Possible source for new ships and planes

I was at Williamsburg Muster this Saturday, (work and snow prevented me from being there Friday and Sunday), and purchased some nice costal gun emplacements from The Viking Forge to use with my A&A ships. His naval products are 1/2400.
I spoke with the owner, whose name escapes me at the moment I'm ashamed to say, and he was quite receptive to the idea of making unusual ships in 1/1800 scale and aircraft in 1/900 scale.
I'm of the opinion that Wizards may not be supporting this line for too much longer and may never produce some of the odder ships I want, (coastal defense vessels, oilers, moitors, etc) and there are tons of planes I'd like to see, (P-40, ME-110, B-17, Spitfire, P-39, etc, etc).
So I'd thought I'd post this here with the idea that anyone else who wants to see some of these items might want to drop him a line so that he can see some profit potential in creating this new line of products to supplement WAS.
You can see his website here: http://vikingforge.datasquire.net/
And his e-mail address is vikingforge@comcast.net
I also sent him an e-mail with this address so he can take a look and see what this group is interested in.
Dan

I sent my email.
Hopefully this come to be as the amount of ships at this scale are limited.
