Regarding Nicknames

After reading Ian Barstow's introduction to S&P Wargamer 53, I thought I might set one thing straight: Barstow has never, nor will ever, be known as Old Bear in the office. This is a name he has given himself to build up an affectionate and loving persona on the forums. In the office, to my memory at least, he has only ever been named using expletives, although most of them did start with 'Old', and often included a slur regarding his Ukrainian heritage (not that there's anything wrong with the Ukraine I might add). 'You Old Ukrainian Git' was a personal favourite of mine, to which the traditional reply was 'up yours you bald northern pie eater'.

The Greek, ever imaginative, has the same nickname for almost everyone (particularly if you've made a jape about his enormous glasses). Unfortunately I can't reveal it here, only to say that if you've ever watched The Fast Show, he sounds a lot like Unlucky Alf's parrot.

Finally, in true dictatorial style, Matthew Sprange once tried to get us all to call him the Duke! We all pretended we hadn't heard!

I would have been happy with Ace. . .

You're obviously trying very hard to forget my work experience stint. I must have called him Old Bear once or twice at least!
