Redirect Blow

Have we discussed this before? It vaguely rings a bell, but the other day I couldn't think of any circumstances in which the Redirect Blow CM could be used, unless the CM did not come from the dice roll, e.g. from a magic item, spell, spirit, Heroic Ability, etc.

Is it for when you crit your parry with a smaller parrying weapon? It still only blocks half damage, or no damage if it is two sizes smaller. In what circumstances would Redirect Blow be better than Enhance Parry? If you have one super-armored location, I suppose it might be better to take a full-damage hit to that than a half-damage hit to somewhere more squishy, but that's a fairly rare circumstance.

It would be useful for vampires, walktapi, scorpionmen and people with special abilities such as Invulnerable head.

You could also change the location to a limb so as not to take out a vital location.

But... only ever useful if you crit your parry against a successful attack, and your parrying weapon is two sizes smaller than the attacking weapon. If it's only 1 size smaller then Enhance Parry is the obvious choice.

Also, why vampires? Oh, for the "dies on 0 hit points to head, chest, abdomen".
