I’m about halfway through it. It’s a little cthulu-ish weird for my tastes, but its very good.

Naaah, getting killed by the Monster of the Week is more amusing than failing that Survival roll during Character Creation :lol: . See Alien , for example: very cthulu-ish but still Hard SF, I think.

One of the Ennie nominees I voted this year is Dead Planet, very cthulu-ish and very good, give it a try (it got Bryce's Seal of Approval too).

finished this on vacation. Liked it a lot. Would have preferred the Cthulhu dialed back a bit and replaced with a bit more intrigue, but YMMV. Will give his next book a shot as well.
