Somebody must have put something really nasty in that thread. Probably someone new popped in, didn't agree with something they read, and posted a nasty personal attack.

The mods just saw it before we all did.

Or someone deduced the truth about Mongoose's evil plans for world domination by following the thread and that is why it was deleted in total.

Have you ever noticed the similiarities between the Mongoose 'M' and the McDonalds 'M'? And McDonalds are EVERYWHERE.

I bet if we knew who posted the offending remark we would find that there is an obituary somewhere about him having been found dead, apparently in some kind of freak attack by seems like 'weasel like creatures'.

Otherwise they could have just edited the offending remark out, and maybe locked the thread. Then we all could have read the reasonable comments.

But perhaps I have said too much already....

That wasnt the thread that someone used racial sterotyping as an example of how old views on different races have changed as society did away with segragation was it?

While the example was fitting, I could see how a moderator could get a little jumpy around racial issues coming up in a thread.

Hmmm, I think I was one of the last to post in that thread - I was a bit critical of their proofreading and some errors/inconsistencies I'd found, but nothing rude or ill-mannered. If they took offence to that, they need to get thicker hide and/or better armour...

Especially as I concluded with the high standard of the Ralios pdf.

Protection is cheaper, and without the penalty. Compare the cost of fullplate armor with protection 6 and a POW crystal. Less than half the cost. Toss in some leather or cuirboilli (if you have it) and it is better armor for half the price.

THey used RQ3ish armor prices (expensive) with magic prices lower than RQ2. mAgic is now cheaper than armor.

I thought that this forum was quite civil, except for that one thread, wow that went AWOL. I thought most moderators gave some sort of warning before deleting a whole thread. where was the post on race/racial ideas?
I would like to read it, wouldn't post whole area's a minefield, esp with this limited form of communication.

I think the problem is that some people only know the word "civil" as part of the phrase "civil war".

Nope. That was http://www.mongoosepublishing.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=20998&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0 and I am the poster of that comment. It was never intended as a racist remark but as a comment on the same mythic hatred applied to a situation that is no more likely that the racist myth.

I also could see how a Mod might find it a bit much. However, it should be know to you that I am a "person of color." to wit a non-white. I am pleased that while the post may have been taken wrong it was seen for what it was: an example.

If anyone WAS offended, I am sorry. Not just for what I said that hurt you, but for the fact it could.
