Questions regarding Fighters and the Kurgan fleet

OK, so I'm attempting to build my first Kurgan fleet, and I had a few questions regarding some of the rules.

1) I've been told that you cannot have more fighters in your fleet than you do the total number of "Craft" available from each carrier in your fleet. Is this correct?

2) Suicide Fighter: Can't find the rules on this anywhere in the main rulebook, does anyone know where I can find the rules for this trait?

Thanks for the info.

1. Yes, you can only bring fighters to a battle that are carried by ships.

2. They will be in the Fleets of the Fading Suns supplement.

But here is a preview: To ram another ship (or Fighter), simply move the Suicide Fighter into base contact with it. The enemy ship may use its Dodge trait, if it has one, but otherwise immediately roll the Suicide Fighter’s bomb Attack Dice against the target. Remove the Suicide Fighter as a casualty, unless the target successfully dodged it. A Suicide Fighter that rams an enemy ship yields Victory Points as normal for a destroyed fighter and may not be recovered by a ship with the Carrier trait.

How does that work in an interaction with other fighters and gatling laser batteries?

Does immediately mean that if I can make a ramming move and have the initiative, the Khangard will hit its target before another fighter can intercept it, even if the suicide fighter is having to move "around" a closer interceptor to make the ram?

Equally, after that move, do I get the chance to fire gatlings if they're in arc? If so, do I get to fire them at each khangard as they make their ramming move (seems a bit harsh on them)?

Good questions.

First of all I will say that what I stated above isn't neccesarily the final wording of the rule.

Personally, I would say that the attacks take place at the end of the attacking player's fighter movement, so gatling lasers would work as normal.

On the other hand, it seems more balanced to allow defending dogfighters to get a chance to do their thing. And taking B5 Gaim as an example, it wouldn't be unreasonable to have them bomb at the end of the movement phase.
