Question: Challenger 2 pic

i think old bear is doing such a force, from the little i know they favour the use of warriors, and lots of them

Yeah I have down on paper what they have, I just wanted to know exactly where they paint their unit marks on their Challengers.

Cheers Evil and Fanaticus. Thanks guys I appreciate it. I'm still looking for a shot of where they paint the red rat now on the Challenger 2. Might be too hard to find a pic I've searched everywhere. It's 2012 I could always just make it up.

Thank you Elvis, I bow down to your google-fu powers. I think that's a crew tag (it's the old rat symbol) or a doctored pic but it looks so cool I'm going to copy it. Thanks mate.

Note that the picture comes from the front page of the 7th Armoured Bde website.

I have an affinity for the 7th Armoured Bde since I studied the desert war in WWII in detail. I have a Flames of War mid war force based on the Royal Dragoons (Armoured Recon) and a squadron of the Scots Greys that were attached to the 7th Armoured and flew thier penant in the desert. I even have the little penants on the vehicles. 8)

Thanks to your query I now have an interest in building a force based on the modern DRs now. Time to get some GHQ Micro Armour...

I agree that the symbol maybe digitially placed in the picture. Frankly I haven't seen a British tank with a symbol on it besides it's unit symbol. But I'm viewing it all over the internet across the Atlantic. I've not been up close and personal to a modern British tank.

Check these.
Not pictures from real tanks, but these models are usually very accurate in that aspects:

In this later cammo the red rat symbol is not used.

I was wrong in the last statement, see the picture below:

A Challenger 2 of the Royal Scots Dragoon Guards provides support to 3 Commando Brigade in southern Basrah

Fanaticus, that's a great find. That size symbol makes much more sense.

Edit: but I'm still going to use the big symbol. It simply looks better for a game. 8)

How did I miss that? My eyes must be painted on.

Those are good pics Fanaticus. I think I'll do the smaller rats on the skirts, leave the front clear except on the command tank (assuming there's rules for command tanks) which will have the big bugger.

And here I though I was going to be all different doing the Scots Dragoons like that...
Need to look up some other Reg's now. Maybe Irish. Curse you all!

Does anyone have a current (2006+) pic of a SCOTS DG Challenger 2 showing its unit marks?
Hi,

Do you mean something like this:

But if you are searching for real images.

Thats a really nice comparision shot actually. I know it's a little out of scale but i bet it'd look fine next to the troops. I might get one in addition to my mongoose Challys
