Question about time and HeroQuests

How does time pass while on a HeroQuest?

If I perform a quest that takes a year and a day for example, does it take that much time back in the mundane world or when I complete the quest to I come back to the same point in time I started it?

Thanks.

Either can happen, depending on the quest. Teelo Estara's quest to realize Sedenya took many, many lifetimes and incarnations of subjective time. I can't remember offhand how long it took in subjective time for her followers, but it was on the order of weeks or months I think. That's an extreme example. I think most quests take as long subjectively as they do objectively.

I don't think there is a correct answer.

Nominally, you're shifted out of time to something akin to the godtime. In theory you could return before you left, or in the following age. I think 'normal' would be that it takes between 1 and 100% of the subjective time, but that's as much for storytelling and convenience reasons than anything concrete. I suppose the best answer is "Whatever MGF requires."

If your heroquest is a success, it's probably quite short. But if you miss something, you could either be lost in the god/hero plane for ever or with some luck exit it in a very different and distant location (that is until you find an exit).
