Question about the Hyperborean Stone Warrior Combat Style

Hi there,

I´m a little confused regarding this Combat Style form Hyboria´s Fiercest.

A Ranger Level 2 chooses hist Combat Style. Taking the above mentioned he´s treated as having the Endurance feat.

So far so good.

With reaching 3rd level he should get DieHard as substitute for Endurance

At Level 5 the Improves Combat STyle grants him DieHard, which should get him Toughness.

But what happens at RAnger Level 6? He already has DieHard and Toughness. So another DieHard woulnd´t do any good, because there are no more options left.

Do I miss teh point here or what´s the deal with this style?

Thanks
Marcel

Substitute Hard as Rock (from Hyboria's Finest) or Tough as Nails (Hyboria's Finest, which supersedes the version from Road of Kings).

Basically, the idea was to have that combat style turn the Borderer into an "iron man" as described by Robert E. Howard in his boxing story of the same name.

Frakkin' Tough as Nails! That feat combined with the high DR armor the Aesir PC in my Conan campaign has made most attacks against him negligible. An attack doing 6 damage gets soaked up by the armor and even the optional rule of 1 non-lethal damage doesn't apply thanks to Tough as Nails. I manage to nickle and dime the PC by the end of the adventure (he's usually the first target to get piled on as he wields a greatsword and is huge) but he sloughs over most non-fire, non-magical attacks.

Heh, last session I did manage to get rid of that greatsword at least.
