Question about Judge Dredd

Hi guys, just got the game and bought some miniatures to start playing this game but while studying the rulebook I noticed there's nothing about board size, looking for some clue on this forum I read about variable sizes..so my question is: is there a suggested board size? Does it depend on scenario maybe?

4 ft. by 4 ft. should cover most games - you can go down to 2 ft. by 2 ft. for smaller forces, and we have played on 6 ft. by 4 ft before.

Currently i am building a 4 by 4 foot board with appropriate scenery, B&Q will cut you a MDF board of that size for under £10..

One more question, what about measurement..is it allow to pre-mesure o is it about "valutation"? The rulebook doesn't talk about this.. :roll:
