Question about injury rolls

From the campaign rules on page 77:
Roll a dice and add the Damage score of the weapon that reduced the model to 0 hits.

Is this literally the damage score of the weapon, or the amount of damage that the weapon caused on the hit that took out the model?

For example, a model is taken out by a long rifle (damage 2), the firer has the aim skill (+1 damage) and the shot was a critical hit (double damage). Do you add +2 (the base damage of the weapon), +3 (base damage + aim bonus) or +6 (total damage caused) to the injury roll?

I can see how this would be confusing.

Do you just add +2 as the base damage profile of the rifle or

+6 using the accumilation of rifle, aim and crit.

In my personal opinion I would go with the +6 as the character has been reduced to 0 hits and ended up with critical damage so the injury result should reflect this.

That's how I'm assuming it's meant to work, but the strict letter of the rules seems to contradict common sense in this instance.
