As the title says.
We found some problems in a Bug vs Skinnie game with the new evo rules.
Skinnies:
Neural beamers/heavy lasers - Too much damage potential, perhaps they should get a constant reduction to the damage roll for each mini in the line of fire. e.g. Neural beamer: First model is: D6+3, second is: D6+2, Third is D6+1, fourth is D6, Fifth is D6-1 and so on until you are rolling D6-6. Representing the strength of the weapon reducing after each target.
General Points: I nearly matched a Bug army with skinnies in numbers. I got guns as well, big ones. Skinnies need to be more expensive I think.
Too much choice: There are way too many weapons to choose from. I think boneshard rifles should be treated as Constrictor rifles.
Light rocket packs: Far too many shots. Perhaps D6 damage dice each turn.
Venerables: The ability to Jump AND fire two weapons is far too much. I think they should be able to fire 2 weapons if stationary, 1 if not.
Bugs:
We only took 2 tankers, 6 hoppers and 30 warrior bugs.
We felt the tanker having D6 damage dice wasn't as effective as it sounds, perhaps D6+2.
Retaliate, we feel the hoppers should still get this. They are not as scary as they used to be.
Otherwise, an okay game. I feel MI vs Bugs would be more flawless than Skinnies vs Bugs. We will be trying that soon, followed by MI vs Skinnies.
