Potentially a stupid question: Victory Destroyer related.

I would love to see what models, or even the scratchbuilds, people use for their Brivoki.

Basically, I have been having an argument with one of my friends who insists that the Brivoki is a pile of crap (he is a Drakh/Gaim/Brakiri player) and i would love to prove how deadly the Brivoki is by using him as an example. Certainly on paper it reads like a beast, Where every two turns you have 16 beam dice (8 double damage, 8 triple damage), or every alternate turn having 8 double damage beam dice. The 28/2d6 shields. And the withering hail of particle arrays at close range.

He insists that the slow-loading triple damage laser and poor range is what makes it crap.

just use a proxy - as long as both of you know what it is should be ok?

unless you can convince Burger to make one of his splendid card ships.

try a search on the forum / Google may turn something up?

Will do!

Cheers!

Going the proxy route using "available" Brikiri minis;

Courami

Cidikar

The Mongoose canon Brivioki is a seriously easy scratchbuild. Although you may have detected a hint of sarcasm in Hiff's "duplo brick" post yesterday, he is really spot on. Probably the only ship mini you could make out of a couple of boxes, (cardboard, styrene or foamcard) plus some wire.

You should give it a go.

A Da Boss manetioned I remember a "Cardboard?" fan scratchbuild which was good, some time ago on the forums do a search and I am sure you will find it.

A Metal conversion alternative:

Just occurred to me that, looking at the two pics in my post above. A very easy conversion, albeit quite expensive, would be to take the side fins from the Courami and add them as top and bottom fins on the Cidikar.

This would give you a unique advanced looking ship which which will fit in with the Brikiri fleet style.

but does not have any Abbai influence in the design, as the Brivoki should have?
maybe a brivoki, and replace upper and lower wings with Abbai style curvy ones, and make some amendments round the forward fins.

You could also just cut and paste the front bridge structure of either ship and replace by adding on a Milani. Possible even just adding a Milani to the front of the Cidikar as is.

Plenty of options and also some which require only basic moddelling skills.

(Edit - and fortunately for me not requiring basic spelling skills)

Edit 2 - The Cidikar is not available from Iron wind. The Milani and Courami are. So Keeping it very simple another modelling option would be to saw the Milani in half leaving two "wing sections" then attach these to either side of the Courami front section just below the existing bridge.

I would prefer the scratch build route, but the conversion options are quick and easy.

Someone here posted pics a very nice proxy for the Brivoki. Looked like a cross between an Avioki and a Romulan warbird IIRC.

Alas I can't remember who :? I don't play Brakiri so didn't occur to me to save the picture.

Err... Nope.. Sorry to say but the one in that thread looked too much like the Mongoose one..

It was definitely sleeker.. Maybe from.. I don't know, BFG?

That's sounding like the Eldar Void Stalker then. It's a great big ship with some swept back wings. I'd think it would be much better as a Neroon conversion though as the Eldar ships are much more like Minbari than Brakiri. I'll have to search through the forums some more and see what I can find.

Here's the Void Stalker for reference.
