Possible Starter box

Whilst the squadren boxes are very good, I was wondering if Mongoose would possibly be releasing a "starter" box" in the future? As whilst the squadron boxes are good, I think we can all agree it has resulted in a large surplus in dreadnoughts, plus the only way to get the thin rulebook is the the £90 fleet boxes, which whilst may have the ideal rule book for a beginner, the sheer amount of models and price may not be good for begginers.
Whilst I know you have to try and do all the old squadron boxes for the other game systems, I think a box that consisted of one of the small copies of the rule book and two forces made each made up of a couple of cruisers and escorts at around £50/60 could be good, it could be split between two players, and would give them the basics they need to begin straight away, and could be a useful thing for gaming stores to stock (for example, my closest can order Mongoose stuff in, but does not have it on shelf atm, whilst a simple starter box could possibly be actually stocked.)

A logical thing to do might be a box with a large rulebook and a sprue with Fed Constitution, Texas and Burke and Klingon D7, D6 and F5 (and some shuttles in the sprue spaces). You'd need to tool one sprue (you might have it so you could split it in half). You could then use this to lower the cost of squadron boxes 1 and 2.

Might be one way to do it. Have a price point of around £30 for the box, softback book, card sheet with turn markers, sprue of ships, bases and some dice.

The Klingon vs Orion squadron set & Rule book doe the job nicely.

Throw in the mini-campaign in the recent PDF and you have a starter set, although other X vs Y sets would be nice to have too

And that's exactly why I wrote it.

A squadron box with a mini rule book and online pdf campaign could be a good idea as well.

Keep it old school, use the Fed CA, FFB vs a D7, F5. Include a mini rule book and a soft tape measure also. That would be around the $55=$60 mark and a good way to get people involved in the game. Most of the games that are on shelves start in N. America at that price so it's competitive. Throw in lots of glossy ads for the rest of the miniature line up and they will be hooked.
