Did you said fighters? at crusade era? Not the Starfury and the Thunderbolt? WoW!
Supposedly, in addition to the current ones:
Starfury Tiger (early)
Starfury Nova/Aurora (the generic 'starfury' for all eras)
Starfury Thunderbolt (the 'thud' that is so beloved of EA players)
we're also getting:
Starfury Firebolt (a crusade-era advanced thunderbolt)
Shadowfury (black ops fleet shadowtech-enhanced fighter)
Or so go the highly steaming rumours, at least.
I appreciate a certain number of EA players complained at their low end choices, grr, I shake my fist at them!
In which I join you.
The later-era more advanced fleets SHOULD be light on low-end ship types, and you still have the
Hermes-class missile boat (one of the best patrol ships out there!) AND the
Myrmidon-class (which I've not seen used, but certainly looks to have a ****load of guns for its weight)
An advanced replacement for the
Olympus should cost more than an
Olympus - hence it should be raid-level. If you don't think the olympus is raid-worthy, fine. Beef it up, don't drop it to skirmish - or it kind of voids the point of 'advanced vessels'. The same goes for the Marathon-class advanced cruiser. It is a battleship, and frankly a damn good one.
No Armagedon ships for younger races is another.
As has been said in a couple of threads, building an armageddon priority ship means 'this ship should beat a
Sharlin-class warcruiser or a Vorlon Cruiser without breaking a sweat'.
Younger races should NOT have that capability without a VERY good explanation...EA will have access to armageddon-priority ships, but only via the Shadow-tech in the black ops fleet - the key one being the
Nemesis-class destroyer.
How does a Shadow or Vorlon win a Planetary Assault with no troops, anyways?
They don't. If you read the scenarios section, Shadows and Vorlons never need to fight planetary assault missions - the justification being that on the offensive they'd just use a planet killer if the need ever came up, and a vorlon or shadow world's planetary defence grid is described as making any attempt at a planetary assault tantamount to suicide...
well we have a hate of blackpool in common.
carry on at this rate we may end the north south divide! actually thats going a bit far isnt it
Meh. I live practically next to the place and hate it as well.
By the way - given the two pages of burbling on ice cream, I think we have a new winner for 'most random drifting off topic'. You therefore win an ice cream.
