Points splits

Can this be clarified please officially:

Under armageddon you can split points down but only split one of THOSE points further as you go down right?

Ie you can split an Armageddon point to 2 war then one of those to 2 raid or 3 skirmish (and then one of those further etc) but

you CANNOT

split an armageddon point to 2 War then one of those to 2 Battle and the other one to 3 skirmish then split one of the Battles to 2 more skirmish etc etc.

I think that the breakdown that Burger has done should be stickied in the Acta forum for ease of reference.

I think that the breakdown that Burger has done should be stickied in the Acta forum for ease of reference.

Although its not quite 100% complete it is useful for giving you the general idea of how the points split works out.

Any chance of getting it stickied as suggested by tenaciousB?

Thanks for stickying Burger's points split list.

The point i made about the list being incomplete may be (again) due to a misunderstanding of the points splitting method.

I agree with the points splits up to the skirmish priority level. But looking at the battle level splits as repeated below:-

1 Raid, 1 Skirmish, 2 Patrol
1 Raid, 3 Patrol
3 Skirmish
2 Skirmish, 2 Patrol
6 Patrol
-----------------------------------

My understanding is that you can split down to a level and if you are going to split further you must maintain a minimum of one of the original split level therefore is it not the case that if you split down to skirmish level in addition to the options 3 skirmish or 2 skirmish, 2 patrol there is a further option which is

1 skirmish, 4 patrol ?

Similarly for the war level list the options from an initial split to raid level are given as:-

3 Raid
2 Raid, 2 Skirmish
2 Raid, 1 Skirmish, 2 Patrol
2 Raid, 3 Patrol

but is there also not the additional (and unlisted variation) of

1 Raid, 4 skirmish
1 Raid, 3 skirmish, 2patrol

And similarly throughout the rest of the list, for example, at armageddon level are there no further options for 1 battle +?? or for less than 5 raid level ships plus further options. e.g. 4 raid+?? etc down to 1 raid +??

No; you can only re-split 1 point.
So your Battle is split into 3 Skirmish; you can only re-split one of them into 2 patrol. You can't re-split 2 of them into 4 Patrol.

I don't have time at work to study the details, but this isn't quite right. If you split a point, you may only split ONE point, regardless of how many you have at the current level. So you could split 1 War down to 3 Raid, but if you wanted to keep ANY points at Raid, you could only split one of the three, meaning you have to keep 2 Raid.

I think, anyway... :?

Ah right, sorry Burger i had it the other way around, thinking you had to keep ONE point and could split the rest rather than keeping the rest and only splitting ONE point.
