Planes and Stafing

This rule I came up with for planes to Strafe. Allowing more damage to crew and a another way for fighters to do more than dogfight or escort.

Fighters can strafe ships using their dogfight score to attack Personnel on ships. Both players roll one die each. The attacking aircraft adds his Dogfight score to the roll. If the Attacker wins the crew takes damage equal to the difference in Die score.

Try it out and tell me what you think.

Seems a bit strong as it is. I'd suggest having the ship add its armour value to the die roll, and if the attacking aircraft wins then the target loses a single crew unit. The attack would also use up one of the aircraft's two turns of ammunition.

As an aside - for aircraft making gun attacks on coastal forces craft, treat the aircraft's dogfighting value as an equivalent "AA" factor for a surface ship

I agree its strong but my thought was I never even get close to hvy loss of crew. and I use a rule that for every 2 points of damage take one crew. But I have also thought about two points of crew damage for one points of ship damage.
So ship armor +d6 VS Dogfight +d6 for strafing.
My thinking this makes BBs to tough for crew, I mean BBs crew die just like DD crew when attacked by strafing. But there is a big difference in armor between these two.
