Pak'Ma'Ra, Brakiri and Drazi colours

MM Sulacos, the larger is a Japanese kit.

I've also got a couple of resin Saratogas which would work well with this lot. They need some work though.

I had noticed that, from the show, some of the Drazi and Brakiri ships were grey, while others were the blue or green (respectively speaking) that we see in the game books.

I always assumed that the grey versions were the commercially sold ships. Since we never saw the Gaim nor Pak'ma'ra ships, I sorta felt that if you painted them grey, then you are using them as the real fleet ships that these 2 poorly represented races used in combat. That way, if you want to use them as a Dawn of 3rd Age fleet (before and during the Shadow War), then they could either be used as pure Drazi ships, maned by Gaim or as Pak'ma'ra. If you also do the same paint job for some Brakiri ships, then you can easily make them the Pak'ma'ra versions instead...

I do not recall ever seeing that ochre-yellow color in the show.

In series five, the episode were the drakk ships make their first appearance. Sorry, I can't remember the episode number. You see a Pak warbird.

@ Banichi: I think it's "Lines of Communications" in season 4.

@ Stringvest: What was the producer of the Jap Sulaco? And what was the material? Very cool :D

The larger one is Konami and is made of hard plastic. I picked two up a few years back when they were still being made. I think they're a little rare these days.

they do indeed look very nice and fit the rest of your fleet well - what do you use them as - or do you have stats ? :D

Are those two booms on her side supposed to be the main guns? :?

A pair of big guns and no (visible) secondary armament... how about a monitor?

Or artilery ship perhaps? Those guns could be the human version of mass drivers

The two side 'booms' are a form of ion canon, the two turrets, one on top, the underneath are meant to be twin railguns.

As for stats, nothing for ACTA at the moment. Did something for Starmada a while back, with a good set of ship designer rules which allow you to tailor weapons to certain genres very well.

I've watched the episode. There a pak'ma'ra ship (actually Drazi origin ship) is destroyed by Drakh.

I think I will paint all the Brakiri ships Cayman Green, I'll find suitable grey for all Drazi ships and then paint domestic pak'ma'ra ships with pale greyish blue. For detais of all ships I'll use same yellow, perhaps Gold Yellow. That is the plan so far.

It is of course possible for the Sunhawk/Warbird to be of generic use in the League... Besides the Brakiri, I don't think they were very particular about color  Derina (Shadow Queen) did a green Pakmara gunship quite a while ago.

The pak'ma'ra buy (used?) ships from other races and it would be quite natural that they do not paint them again. That is why I decided not to paint any Brakiri or Drazi ship with pak'ma'ra colour. But I want to give to pak'ma'ra a colour of their own. Otherwise their home-made ships just look too much like Brakiri or Drazi ships. I think I'll paint one ship of each fleet and test the colours before painting the rest.

I actually got the old pak'ma'ra Fleet Box, when I recently bought it. So I don't have any Hurr Gunships. Mayby I should buy 1 or 2 before is is too late. There is no battle level ships at the moment. On the other hand I have 3 Psul'Shi for the bigger games.
