Pak'ma'ra and ambush scenarios

Just reading the rules for the ambush scenario and spotted the "The defending player may only act normally with his ships if they first pass a crew quality check (target number 10)" bit. Wouldn't this completely bone a pak fleet in one off games? Some of their ships might have a chance in a campaign, if you have bettered their CC. But I still wouldn't want to role an ambush scenario as the defender.

As an aside, the scenario rules make no mention of launched fighters, and if they can move normally.

It's only for the first turn. After that even the most inept crew has gotten out of their racks, and at battle stations.

Ambush is one of the scenarios in a campaign its usually worth not turning up to (letting opponent know in advance) - Minbari do very well with their stealth - esp at low PL, and maybe ISA with dodge but for others it can be very costly.

Cheers Burger, that seems a bit more balanced. I was taking that first line of the scenario rules to mean that the attacker gets the initiative for the first turn, not that the scenario rules apply only for the first turn. I guess not even paks could be that sleepy.

Isn't it funny how you can read things oddly after a long busy day.
