im not really sure whether or not there is a separate post for this. this is my first post so...
here arer some tips that have haelped me with painting SST models.
1.) if you have some of the packs of eclipse gum save the part that contains the gum, the small compartments help with keeping your paints separate when using them and they all help keep the colors separate when you blend two colors.
2.) if you have any ear swabs to spare, cut off the fluffy part and use the cut end as a stirrer to mix your paints.

if any of you guys found my tips helpful let me know. also if you guys have any good paintin advice to give me i would really appreciate it. thanks

Good recycling tips that you posted.

I've used the sides cut from half gallon plastic milk jugs as wide paint palettes since they are polyethylene and the paint will peel right off for reuse when it has dried. My wife bought me some 6 hole plastic craft paint palettes which essentially work in the same manner now.

Recently on another forum someone asked about if I suffer paint chipping off my Arachnid Warrior Bugs since I store them clumped together in show boxes. In my experience I haven't had any problem with paint chipping down to exposed plastic on Arachnid models. I use an appropriately colored spray paint as a base coat, either as primer or over primer. Most adhere well to plastic better than bottled acrylic paint. It might be possible to lose a few details painted over the top of the spray coat over time, but in most cases you don't get the full chipping down to no paint like you do when you see silver on a metal model.

As I've mentioned before here, I use Krylon Fusion spray paint for the base color on the Bug Warriors. You can even paint them while still on the sprue tree, detail them and then assemble. :D

I echo what BuShips says about Krylon Fusion! I did the same thing with my bugs (first time I used it) and haven't looked back since. I use Krylon or Krylon Fusion for ALL minis now. Great stuff, and way cheaper than the EE's stuff (which fuzzed up about 20 of my Skinnie Raiders). :x

Regards.
