Painting My Fleets... (Now With Very Early WIP Vorchans)

I had a bit of a moment and decided to paint a Minbari model I have had lying around for ages but never really liked...

And now, after painting it, I do like it. Its sort of a mix between a Minbari ship and a Whitestar so I decided to go for a diferent scheme to the normal dark blue... (but still using the exact same 4 colours).

It was also used as a test model for when I paint some Whitestars.

I took some stage by stage photos of this one so will be putting together a guide soon.

Well the paintjob is very nice as always but for me the Neshatan is way too bright (though that could be the photograph more than the ship). It's still far nicer than I could ever hope to do but for me just doesnt look quite as jaw droppingly awsome as your other ships (which are some of, if not THE nicest ships I've seen (especially the Minbari) :)

for the first time I have seen a Neshatan that actually looks good - I always hated the mini but that actually makes it look almost worth buying - almost

congrats on all your paint jobs they are great - I wish I had half the skill you seem to have

stands out as it`s a lot whiter when set against the rest of your Minbari ships but nicely detailed as usual. :)

I got my hands on some Vorchans this morning and seeming as it was my day off I decided to get them all ready for painting.

I hate the way the FA scale Vorchans attach to their flying stands so I came up with my own solution in the form of small Mongoose bases, a pin vice and some wire...

I drilled up one side of the lower fin and snuck some wire up their and ran it down the fin into the stem of the flight stand. I used 4 different heights of stem from various different companies.

Thats a pretty nice mounting method. Simple, and if the step breaks you just throw it away and insert anothe. Might have to try it on some of my smaller ships :)

I have mounted my Fell bats of my warhammer Vampire Lords army that way - it´s pretty simple, but you really have to drill straight down the stem, else you risk breaking the whole thing to pieces. Also, it´s hard to pull of with bigger ships.

I would do it on my ships, but I am currently waiting for a delivery of magnetic adapters - lots and lots of magnetic adapters! :D

Vampire Lords need a really big makeover, models and army codex, IMO

Ok and that is officially the most off topic post this week ;) Please lets not start winging about a certain other games copanies army lists here, this is the ACTA Forum....

Just because someone mentions a GW model in reference to a basing technique doesnt mean its fair game to derail the thread to complaining about Warhammer...

ps. sorry if that came out a little snappy, I hadnt had any caffein yet this moring and I'm rather keen to not see this forum turn into a 'this is broken, that's overpower, omg this list is so weak and thats why I lose all my games' slagging match like the GW forums were.... Not that theres not enough bitching about stealth and vorlons and beam teams anyway....
