Painting My Fleets... (Now With Very Early WIP Vorchans)

If you keep knocking fleets out like that, you could fill an edition of your Wargames Painting and Modelling with turorials and stuff :)

:D Great work! I don't love the shadows scheme, but man they look great - especially lover the Minbos and Earth stuff. Great talent. I wish I'd have thought of that EA scheme before I did mine (finished them this weekend!)

There'a another thread (Hermes one) that's bemoaning Mongoose's painting/modeling examples - they should use you!

...fantastic paintjob...airbrush?????

Nope, I sold my airbrush...

The shadows were painted with 3-4 watered down highlights of black adding more and more red. Using the new P3 paints from Privateer Press.

So do I! :D

This is the second round for my EA ships... they used to look like this...

Although not that visible in this picture the painting on these was rough as old boots. Nasty drybrushing with a very quick edging...

Very nice EA tho i dont like Chronos minis tho the paint job is cool, I had to paint 20 of them for a friend

I know where your coming from there. I actually snipped a few bits off of my Chronos... I think they had little wing bits before I had at them with clippers.

Reminds me of Battle Star Galactica with those chin turrets.

I won't lie to you... I built the Marathon whilst I was in my BSG "phase"...

Now thats an idea... :D

Thanks for the comments guys, I should have some updates later on... depends if I can find time to do some paintnig...

I finished off teh EA ships tonight... they won't look much different to the previous pictures though. I highlighted all the dark grey areas and added very small amounts of silver on the engines.

And the group shot...

I have 3 more Chronos, 1 more Delphi and a ton of fighters to paint/re-paint for this fleet but they shouldn't take too long.

I also painted som Nials for my Minbari tonight...

I used a very impressionist style to paint them, so when viewed up close they are a mess... no blending just stripes of colour and messy brush work. But when seen on the table they look okay. Als the models themselves were not great so superdetailing was out of the question due to a lack of detainl on the models themselves.

I have also realised the folly of photographing blue and white models on a blue and white background. I'll sort out some better pictures soon.

Great looking stuff, you are inspiring and intimidating all in one! I really like what you have done, the quality of the execution makes it even that much more impressive!

like the creativity, good stuff!! :P

the fighters look great too, that's a couple of times i've seen the bases done like that now, it's really nice.

top stuff! 8)

I should stop looking at this thread, it threatens to destabilize my mental and emotional stability...

Really like the fighter bases, do the base size get in the way for shooting?

I may do my bases like this in future.

If his bases are like mine (GW Flying base), they are almost the exact same size as the hexagonal base that B5 provides. In addition, the GW flying base has a nice hole in the center to measure ranges from.

I think they look great!
