Painting My Fleets... (Now With Very Early WIP Vorchans)

Hi,

I think i am a pretty good painter, but those Minbari are truly awesome, give us a quicky guide to the sequence of colours you put on. Any ink washes etc in there?

Really they are magnificent.

Cpt K
PS Like the shadows too

what can i say about the minbari? as i read you said nothing to special then i saw the pics ******* hell mate they are brilliant, if they are not special id love to see the ones that are, and as one outher poster said, would you mind a few people doing there shadows like that?
well cool, keep the pics coming

Wow!!! those shadows are cool, very evil and menacing looking. And your minbari are beautiful. I don't think there is any other word to descride them.

Blimey those Minbari are excelent

Really good blending, would love to know how you did it?

What paints do you use

Al

Im going to cry and bury my ships they look horrid compared to yours. Your ships look awsome where do you live you can paint mine. :P

How did you learn to highlight so well? I mean, I can't get that kind of blending AT all. EVER.

Also, for the Shadows, I was afraid that the ship would only look good on it's own, but sitting there amid the Destroyers... it all looks SOOOOOO great! The differences in the blending for the Destroyers really adds some flaire, I think.

Fantastic work!

:D

Thanks for all the comments guys. I'll take some pictures as I paint my next ship and put together a painting guide.

I have some EA on teh table at the moment as well as a few more Minbari ships. I also have to drill out and base all my shadow fighters...

I started to paint my Marathon cruiser (that was assembled almost 6 months ago) and very quickly realised I had no idea how I had painted the rest of my drab coloured EA ships... So the obvious option was to repaint the whole fleet in a lovely new colour scheme.

Not wanting to go too far from drab and dull I chose a nice granite/grey/brown look for the new scheme. And instead of drybrushing them all like I did last time round I am now painting them properly...

These are not finished by the way... All the black bits will be highlighted using a dark-blue/deadly-nightshade colour and a blue grey.

My Marathon is modified from the original. I removed the bridge structure from the back and the little wing things from the sides. I then stuck a whole bunch of turrets all over it... Also to tie it in with the Chronos I added a disc-like brisge and a rear turret. (I like to think the same contractor built the two ships back on Earth...)

Reminds me of Battle Star Galactica with those chin turrets.

Once again, you make me hate you for your amazing talent  .

GREAT JOB!

That Marathon conversion is simple and inspired.

As for the painted Shadow and Minbari ships... I shall be stripping my Minbari now and awaiting your toutorial on how to paint Minbari ships correctly.

   that is awesome......RESPECT

to the shadows:
