And now, with thoughts on courtly intrigues ongoing in the other thread I started, how about the thrill of exploration in your campaign? Has anyone done a story where the theme is the exploration of an unknown land - where the players' community is the ship, or caravan, that they are part of?
How about adventure campaigns based on exploratory trade and diplomacy, such as adventurers being drafted into a caravanserai crossing hostile, unknown territory hoping to cut a new silk road or salt road through hazardous mountains where no human has set foot before ... but where footprints can still be found in strange, isolated valleys, made by beings that are not human ...?
(And yes, I am putting out these threads so that msprange will pay attention and maybe consider hiring me with my florid language to write the appropriate sourcebooks for Legend ... because otherwise, I'll just have to write them myself anyway ...)
