Ordering Books

Being International with distribution, release dates should be as posted on the site worldwide unless noted differently.

I pre-ordered the books originally listed as October releases, so the way I see it, they'll arrive after my January credit card bills, so no worries :P

I'm such a slow reader anyways that I won't have finished my prep materials before I do receive them anyways.

Does anyone in the US who did not order directly from Mongoose get Tower of the Elephant or Hyboria's Finest yet?

Not yet. But it could be because Heretics of Tarantia is part of the order.

I haven't seen the books at my fLGS yet, but I see Tower of the Elephant on Amazon for $30 so I'm pretty sure they don't have it yet.

The October Releases are now listed as November releases. I'm sure that Mongoose did that in response to problems and user feedback (us gamers on these message boards) asking why/when they will be shipped. In general, assume (based on past experience) that whenever a product lists a month as release, that it will be released the last day of that month or 2 weeks in the beginning of the next month, if it hasn't had it's release date pushed back in general. :P

Ah, the joys of modern marketing and distribution in the post-industrial age. :?: :?: :?: :!: :?:

[Sigh]. Assuming they have enough copies printed at this time to distribute, I'd expect based on past history of release months, that web vendors & stores, etc. will get it early in December, like within the first 2 weeks of December. Then it depends on how long it takes them to deliver it (my experience w/ Amazon's pre-orders is 4-8 months after release, FRP is 1-3 days).

From what I've seen both with websites and stores in the NYC area, Mongoose has terrible traffic with US distributors.

So you'll have to wait a LONG time.

I think it's closer to 4 to 8 weeks. Amazon is slow, but not that slow.

I'm not exxagerating what I'd specified - I didn't get the original Conan book for a month after everyone else had it, which maybe led to our group, I waited 4 months for the Shadizar boxed set, I waited 3 months for Hyboria's Fiercest, I waited 5 months for Road of Kings. They have good deals w/ prices (though it makes practically no profit for publishers), but I have had horrible luck w/ rpgs. Novels or other items I get (DVDs) in a couple weeks only, so I think the problem is related to the distribution of game materials specifically.

Okay, I exaggerated slightly, (:P) but I HAVE had several orders that took 6-7 months after a book was available to arrive.

Who loves ya baby?

Are Hyborias finest and Heretics of Tarantia available online in the UK yet I cant seem to find them on my regular sites at the moment :?
