Range for the Hawkwood Dreadnaught is not much of an advantage when you consider terrain as well.

Up close and personal the Decados Dreadnaught will rip any other Dreadnaught to bits with its Meson Guns. The Hazat Dreadnaught is a good mid range with it Multi Hit Blasters.

And I agree the Decados is the coolest looking ship produced so far.

the hawkwood doesnt need speed and terrain doesnt matter if the decados one has to come into the open to shoot due to the hawkwood dreadnought having a higher damage output unless they both head to head. broadside on the hawkwood one wins everytime. although decados is closer than the hazat one which is horrible compared to the big 2.
