If EA have an Early Years fleet list in Armageddon, Why the EA do not have Command Avenger or a Command Nova? In Human history Aircraft carrier and battleship were command ships?

That's what the Hyperion is for (take a look at "In the Beginning").

The Avenger is just a fighter delivery platform, pure and simple, and the Nova a fire support platform.

current day conventions do not necesarily have to advance to the future, or indeed be based upon the past. The battleship is obsolete in modern navies, replaced by cruisers and destroyers armed with missiles. The heavy bomber has become non existent in all but the US and russian miltaries, as smaller aircraft can drop higher powered, more acurate ordnance these days. you will of course see throwbacks, the Nova is a great example of a solid broadside a la a napoleonic warship. The Poseidon is a command ship, their is an Omega command ship, is their a hyperion one? i don't know. I don't think the EA needs any more varients, and I don't really see any justifcation for one.

Here endeth my response. I felt it was good of me to explain my standpoint and not just say yes or no. I thank you for reading.

I think we all know that the fluff often bears as much resemblance to a ship, as a wombat does to a nuclear warhead.

Your point is more than Right, Is all true ( But with the exeption of the heavy bomber, The B-52 is the King of all bomber and it is one of the key pieces in US arsenal! ) But B5 is a naval game in space. And the variety of ship is one of the key suscess of this game.

The Avenger already has +1 Command.

I don't want a Command Based Nova, as it will be undergunned for the Battle level PL they will assign it.

If you had a points system, certain ships could have a command rating if you pay some extra points. The amount of points would differ depending on the ship.

I never use an Avenger, but I'm loking for the statds, and is very impresive. Even in a way it is better than a Poseidon.

Well if its a fairly large Wombat and you get it to stand in a cone or ball like position it COULD resemble a Nuclear warhead if you uphostered one in Wombat fur :P

but this isn't a points based system (well it is in a very arbitrary manner) so i don't really see the point of this?

The point is "thread hijack" ;)

Hijacking a nuclear wombat? Sounds like a dangerous occupation!

GROPOS Generals like Novas because they supposedly were used in fire support/ground bombardment roles.

They weren't, however, fleet command ships.

A Nova Command Ship might make sense pre-Hyperion (it's supposed to be the first proper capital ship hull the EA built) but if you look at the Mongoose In Service Dates, the missile version of the Hyperion was in service first....

...where did that wombat go again?

Just saying with points you could give some of the options that the fluff says. You could have a Command Nova with out pushing in up a level like a priority system does. The idea of a Command Nova isn't silly but redundant with Command Hyperion or though i would rather have a Command Nova. More likely to stay alive.
