Official rulings, S+P Articles etc

I was going to post this as a response to a post on the free Drakh Mothership thread, but it struck me that my comment applied to a number of other threads so I thought I would post it as a completely new thread and hopefully get a commnet from Matt or anybody else at MGP.

Surely any rulings and articles that were extant before the publicationof 2nd edition are now out of date?

1st edition is dead and buried, any ruliings, posts, articles or anything else made during the life of 1st edition cannot, or should not without official notification from MGP, apply to a completely new edition of the rules. There are bound to be rulings that now contradict changes made in 2nd edition, these querries all need to be addressed again specifically for the 2nd edition.

There seem to be a number of threads now asking questions and people posting answers saying that there was a previous response in S+P or a ruling from the rulesmasters. Surely these have to be revisited or we are just importanting version one in to the spanky new version 2.

I am not asking for an FAQ just calrification.

Perhaps it's time to draw all the questions into one thread.

I would disagree with you there in one key way. If a rule hasnt changed at all from 1st ed to 2nd ed then I would say that unless there is something to state specifically to the contrary, 1st ed rulings stand.

The thing is, 1st Ed ISNT dead and burried. 2nd edtion has a redone fleet list and alot of rules have changed but it is an evolution from 1st ed not a completely new system! Alot of core rules are exactly the same as they always have been (moving, shooting etc....) The changes in 2nd ed are mainly in the minor details.

Not entierly the big picture thouhg Matt, what we are talking about is a rule that hasnt changed in the slightest from 1st to 2nd ed, namely huge hangars in this instance. If 2nd ed contradicts a previous ruling then yes of course it would supercede the previous ruling but surely it wouldnt reset ALL rulings when the rule in question hasnt been altered?

When is the FAQ & Corrections for 2nd Edition scheduled? (I'm asking because of things like the Falkosi ISD that call into question the other ISDs)

should the Falkosi be 2188 perhaps?
